I Sing the Rising Sea running September 13 – October 9, 2016. This is a World Premiere Musical in collaboration with ODURep.
Oliver Twist running October 28 – November 13, 2016. This is a brand new adaptation by Patrick Mullins with new music by Jake Hull in collaboration with The Governor School for the Arts.
A Christmas Carol running December 7 – 24, 2016

Due to ongoing renovations to the historic Wells Theatre, the first two shows will be held at two other, convenient Norfolk locations — ODU’s Goode Theatre and TCC’s Roper Performing Arts Center, respectively. Virginia Stage will return to the newly renovated Wells Theatre with a soft reopening for A Christmas Carol, followed by its Grand Reopening for A Streetcar Named Desire in January 2017.
Season 38 kicks off with three discounted preview performances to its opener, I Sing the Rising Sea, on September 13-15 and officially opens on September 16. After 28 performances, the production will conclude on October 9 and will be followed by Oliver Twist, A Christmas Carol, A Streetcar Named Desire, Venus in Fur, and The Wiz, all of which will run for two or three weeks at a time.
Tickets for each show start as low as $20, with the majority of seats being $45-$55, and can be purchased online by visiting vastage.org or over the phone by calling Virginia Stage Company’s box office at 757.627.1234. There are discounts for groups, students, and the military where applicable.
