In a community already filled with artists, workshops, and creative businesses, the performing arts collaboration that is Virginia Arts Festival’s Fringe Festival promises fun for everyone May 12 through 14 in the ViBe.
Friday night at 8 PM in the ViBe Park at 18th & Cypress Ave will be Town Mountain Band, who play bluegrass with a honky-talk chaser.
Saturday evening features Red Baraat, a blend of jazz, hip-hop and more.
On Saturday, come experience a local taste of fresh produce, bread, cheese, fruits, flowers, crafts and environmentally friendly products at the Old Beach Farmers Markets in the parking lot of Croc’s at the corner of 19th Street from 9am-noon.
18th Street Parklet will be alive with energy on Saturday as the Lynnhaven River Now hosts the Art of Saving the River Festival. This nature-inspired festival celebrates a mix of artists showcasing original works of glass, painting, sculpture ceramics, glass, mixed media and more. Artist demonstrations and children’s activities will happen throughout the day, and a special juried art exhibit takes place in the VIP tent.
Bring mom to Mother’s Day Brunch Celebration on Sunday from 11-1 pm, when mothers will be honored with complimentary coffee and pastries and fruit.
Art, culture, music and food – Fringe Fest is an arts event for everyone willing to step out to the edges and experience something new.
