“It’s exhausting to be a mentally unhealthy person, and you want to give up,” said Sarah Serrano, who works at O’Connor Brewing. “But you have to. You owe it to yourself to get that medicine that you need, or to get whatever it is off your chest. The pain mounts… there are ways to get rid of that pain.”
Serrano is a brave survivor willing to tell her story. She is committed to not just her own mental health, but the mental health of her children.
“My kids do know what goes on with me. We call it the talk doctor,” Serrano said. “That’s not a taboo thing in my household.”
