When there’s something stray in the neighborhood, who ya gonna call? Portsmouth Humane Society.
Portsmouth Humane Society (PHS) cares for all stray and homeless pets in the City of Portsmouth. Providing food, housing, veterinary services, and love for nearly 2,000 animals per year isn’t easy, and it certainly isn’t cheap. PHS is organizing a fundraising pub crawl in Olde Towne Portsmouth to help provide for the animals in its care. The “Straynger Things” themed event takes place on October 19, 2019 from 5:00 – 9:00 pm. Guests are encouraged to dress in 80’s clothes or as their favorite TV show character as they enjoy food and drink specials at some of Olde Towne’s finest restaurants.
The Olde Towne Pub Crawl is a longstanding Portsmouth tradition. When PHS took over the Crawl in 2017, they added a Zombie twist. This year, things are going in a much Straynger direction. “We hope people get into the spirit of the event, but more than that, we want them to see what a difference their participation makes for the animals,” says Alison Fechino, Executive Director. “This is a unique chance to support our mission while enjoying a night in Olde Towne!” Registration for the “Straynger Things” Pub Crawl includes an event t-shirt, bottle opener, and featured discounts at participating restaurants. To register for the Crawl or to participate as a restaurant or sponsor, visit www.portsmouthhumanesociety.org. Sign up before rates increase on October 11th!
