5-10pm: Grab your blanket and chairs for the 34th Annual 4th of July Great American Picnic & Fireworks at Town Point Park and across the river in Portsmouth.
7-10pm: See 4th of July Stars in the Sky at Newport News Victory Landing Park. The City of Newport News Parks, Recreation & Tourism Department will present the “4th of July Stars in the Sky” event on Monday, July 4th at Victory Landing Park (located at the end of 23rd St. at the James River). At 7:00 PM, the event begins with free children’s rides and strolling entertainment. Food vendors will be on site selling a variety of items. Music will lead up to the fireworks which will light up the sky over the James River at 9:30 PM. The park is located at 50 26th Street, Newport News, VA 23607. Call 757-926-1400 for more details.
