It’s the beginning of a new year, and all of those fun holiday parties are a thing of the past. You’re probably wondering what you can look forward to next. Luckily for you, one Norfolk SPCA volunteer is planning your next fun night out, and it’s just around the corner.
Penny Wile, of Penny Wile Court Reporting, has been hard at work planning Woofstock II to support the Norfolk SPCA. With the support of Ted Warren, owner of Charlie’s American Café, this event will feature music from the absolutely entertaining The Fuzz Band on Saturday, January 13th from 8pm-12am.
Penny loves putting on the Woofstock events to support the Norfolk SPCA. An avid animal lover, she values the work of the Norfolk SPCA in their trap and release program, the center’s overall animal care and adoption efforts, and their affordable veterinary care. Penny’s love for animals is also shown as she works with her English Golden Retriever, Cora, in the Animal Therapy Program at Sentara Norfolk General Hospital. She’s the dream volunteer every agency hopes for.
Tickets for this event are a steal at $10 and Charlie’s (4024 Granby Street in Norfolk) is even donating 10% of dinner sales to the Norfolk SPCA’s animal care programs. And if you’ve never heard The Fuzz Band, this is the perfect time to go. I have enjoyed every performance of theirs I’ve seen, and they seriously know how to make you move. $10 for a night like this while supporting on of my favorite nonprofits? Sign me up!

To find out more about the Norfolk SPCA by visiting their webpage here. I can say from personal experience, this is an awesome organization. In the past, we’ve used their low-cost veterinary services, vaccine clinics, and even adopted our sweet Jojo from them. Our little cat princess, Jojo sat by the computer with me while I finished my thesis, and many times as I write about events for you all to attend. I’m forever grateful for the Norfolk SPCA for bringing her into our lives.
Enjoy an evening of fun while making a difference in a dog or cat’s life. Invite a friend or two to join you. If you can’t make it, make a donation to the Norfolk SPCA or stop by and see what they’re about. You’ll be glad you did.
