‘Tis the season to keep rejoicing! A brand new production of the hit jukebox musical celebrates classic holiday songs from the 50s and 60s.
Hampton, VA – (November 15, 2018) – The Wonderettes are back! A sequel to the smash success The Marvelous Wonderettes, the beloved characters of Betty Jean, Cindy Lou, Missy, and Suzy return for a seasonal celebration, which finds the girls entertaining at the annual Harper’s Hardware Holiday Party. When Santa turns up missing, they use their talent and creative ingenuity to save the holiday party! Featuring toe-tapping versions of holiday classics such as “Santa Claus Is Comin’ to Town,” “Jingle Bell Rock,” “Run, Rudolph, Run,” and “Winter Wonderland,” the result is, of course, marvelous!
Showcasing festive costumes, stellar voices, and fantastic vocal arrangements, Winter Wonderettes is a terrific way to continue the yuletide celebration into the New Year. This energetic and glittering holiday package, featuring the versatile talents of Jenna Pastuszek, Rebecca Robbins, Amanda Jill Robinson, and Kayla Tarpley, is guaranteed to delight audiences of all ages.
Hampton Arts Artistic Director Richard M. Parison, Jr. directs the production in collaboration with Walnut Street Theatre, where he spent nearly a decade as Casting Director. “I’m thrilled to bring this festive production to Hampton,” said Mr. Parison. “The holidays always pass so quickly, but this year we’re giving Coastal Virginia audiences an excuse to keep celebrating.”
The rest of the creative team includes Billy Thompson (Music and Vocal Director), Karen Getz (Choreography), Colin McIlvaine (Set Design), Robert Perry (Lighting Design), Amanda Wolff (Costume Design), John Kolbinski (Sound Design), and Catherine Hagner (Stage Manager).
