Hampton’s D.R.A.M. has been making America feel it in their toes with “Broccoli,” which hit No. 1 on the Hot Rap Songs Chart.
It’s been a good day for the man with the goofy smile, salty lyrics, and hypoallergenic dog.
D.R.A.M. has been nominated for the music establishment’s highest honor: yup, Hampton Roads has produced yet another Grammy nominee.
“I’m a Grammy nominated artist!” he wrote on his Instagram. “Thank you Lord!”
D.R.A.M. is nominated for Best Rap/Sung Performance, and is up against some acts you might have heard of in Drake for “Hotline Bling” and Beyoncé featuring Kendrick Lamar for “Freedom.”
In my book Big Baby was a winner for life once Beyoncé posted this video of her dancing to one of D.R.A.M.’s earlier hits, “Cha Cha.”
From what we hear from people who know and have worked with D.R.A.M. he’s a genuinely kind, down home person, which makes it all the easier to root for him at the Grammy’s, which take place on February 12, 2017.
