October is the first Norfolk Yoga Month!
We have teamed up with the five yoga studios of Norfolk and The Up Center to bring you a really cool deal:
For $25 you get one class at each of the five Norfolk yoga studios during October. $5 a class is a fantastic deal for a drop-in, so we are stoked about this.
What makes this even better is that 100% of the proceeds — every single dollar — goes to The Up Center, which provides mental health counseling to members of our community who might not otherwise be able to afford it.
Help yourself to a lot of great yoga while helping heal our community. We all benefit.
Purchase your ticket with a direct donation of $25 to The Up Center by clicking here.

Beach Belly’s Yoga & Wellness Center
Beach Belly’s Yoga and Wellness Center was founded in 2015 by Yolanda Imprevento as an attempt to fill a disturbing gap in the current yoga community. For too long, she noticed how only certain types of people seemed to be included in most yoga classrooms, and this upset her greatly. Yolanda decided to take a stand, and do something about it.

Hot House Yoga
At Hot House Yoga, they teach two styles of Hot Yoga: Hot Stability and Hot Flow. While each style is distinct and unique in nature, they complement each other and are designed to be practiced together to create optimal balance.
Both their Stability and Flow classes are structured around a methodology called the Therapeutic Vision. This method of sequencing is what creates a healing, sustainable, life-long practice. It’s based on the anatomy of the body, specifically related to lines of connective tissue, known as myofascial lines, which have both movement and postural functions. The Therapeutic Vision’s specific emphasis is to sequentially strengthen and stretch each one of these lines so that they can properly perform their intended function. The inability of these lines to perform their functions creates imbalances throughout the entire body.
Whether it’s back pain, stress, or a host of other issues that bring you to yoga, Hot House offers conscious movement to help focus the mind and revive the body. The result then is inner peace and being able to live life to the fullest.

NFK Yoga Month Beneficiary: The Up Center
For over 130 years, The Up Center has been strengthening families throughout South Hampton Roads. Their mission is to change the trajectory of children, families and young adults from crisis to wholeness. At The Up Center, they believe that mental wellness impacts all stages of life for individuals and families. Exposure to chronic stress at a young age, left unaddressed, increases the odds of a mental health diagnosis as an adult. That’s why they have programs and services that focus on building resilient kids and parents. Their vision is a healthy community where children and families thrive.
The Up Center supports Norfolk Yoga Month because they know that mental wellness is a continuum that includes both health and illness. Strengthening the mind body connection is an effective way of managing stress and anxiety, which helps families become more resilient and build a stronger community.
