If you’re interested in hearing about flooding research and you enjoy a good, local brew, check out the upcoming Science Pubs at The Oozlefinch Craft Brewery.
The fun will be held on February 15th, with trivia beginning at 6pm, and the program kicking off at 6:30pm.
Featuring Dr. Michelle Covi, an Assistant Professor of Practice in the Ocean, Earth and Atmospheric Sciences Department at Old Dominion University (ODU), as well as Dr. Derek Loftis, and Assistant Research Scientist working in the Center for Coastal Resources Management at the Virginia Institute of Marine Science (VIMS), the evening will focus on knowledge related to flooding and current ongoing flood modeling research being conducted at ODU and VIMS. The speakers will also cover planned future installations of water level sensors and resilience improvements.
This event will be held in an informal setting, so bring your questions and be prepared for lively conversation. Science Pubs is free, but they would like you to RSVP here. The bonus? The first twenty people to arrive for the event get a free beverage. My beer sources tell me to certainly try Oozlefinch’s Oxcart Imperial Porter if it’s available.
Join the conversation on this important topic by clicking that RSVP link, and getting to Oozlefinch early to grab a pint (or a few).
