It’s not just farm-to-table this Saturday at Commune NFK — the farm is coming to the table.
Commune’s sister farm, New Earth Farm, will be setting up shop in Commune with veggies, herbs, pasture raised eggs and a host of other locally-sourced ingredients they use in their restaurants.
If the community shows interest this could turn into something bigger. Who wouldn’t want a permanent farm market in Downtown Norfolk?
“We just want to bring the farm to NFK,” said the owner of Commune, Kevin Jamison, “and if there’s good interest we’re thinking of having a market there full time.”
Also for sale on Saturday will be organic grains and flours from Next Step Produce and goat cheese from Sullivan’s Pond Farm, among other wholesome goodies.
The market runs from 9am to 2pm this Saturday, December 2nd. Commune is located in the Texaco Building at the corner of Granby and Olney in the NEON.
