“I have had a most rare vision. I have had a dream, past the wit of man to say what dream it was.”
“My dream thou brok’st not, but continued’st it.
Thou art so truth that thoughts of thee suffice
To make dreams truths, and fables histories.”
— John Donne
“I DREAM’D in a dream, I saw a city invincible to the attacks of the
whole of the rest of the earth;
I dream’d that was the new City of Friends;
Nothing was greater there than the quality of robust love–it led the rest;”
— Walt Whitman
Saturday night marked the closing event for The Art of Burning Man — an exhibition staged by the Hermitage Museum dedicated to the artwork of the eponymous annual event.
Guests took part in a variety of interactive programs, temporary art installations, and live performances that culminated in the ceremonial setting aflame of a Mermaid’s tale erected off shore in the adjoining river.
