Join ODU Science Pubs on Wednesday, March 15th at Coelacanth Brewing Company for “Lightning Talks.”
Emceed by Dr. Thomas Socha, Professor of Communication and Theatre Arts and Graduate Program Director of Lifespan and Digital Communication at ODU, graduate students from across the Old Dominion University community will give 5-minute talks on their research followed by an opportunity for questions and discussions. Subject areas will include engineering, health sciences, public service, communication, oceanography, physics, and education.
In addition, you’ll leave the brewery able to pronounce scientifically-named Coelacanth (see-luh-kanth).
Sponsored by ODU’s Lifelong Learning Program, Lifespan and Digital Communication at ODU, Virginia Sea Grant, and Coelacanth Brewing Company, the event includes complimentary beverage tickets to the first 20 people who arrive for the program, as well as other refreshments beforehand. Trivia starts at 6pm, and the program begins at 6:30pm. This is a great opportunity to learn about community research and get involved in discussions in a laid-back atmosphere.
While reservations are not needed, it is nice to let them know you’re coming for planning purposes. They’d like you to let them know by March 13th. You can RSVP here.
