The NEON District of Norfolk has been getting a bunch of attention lately. A bunch of extremely well-deserved attention. NEON is about a month away from their opportunity to introduce the dynamic and exciting community to the public, at The NEON Festival, and Hatch could not be more excited to be a part of such an invigorating movement.
On the first night of the festival, Hatch will be hosting our longest running free meetup, Startup Night, from 6:00pm – 9:00pm at the Harrison Opera House.
Whether they’re in the napkin stage of a lucrative business idea, the development stage, or they’re looking to build onto a current entity, Startup Night gives local entrepreneurs a platform to showcase what they’re working on. These companies get get 15 total minutes to present their projects, and participate in a Q&A session with an enthusiastic crowd. The feedback these teams garner from Startup Night play a vital role in the growth and progression of each venture. There is also fun crowd experience for those who just want to be a part of the startup community and interact with real companies.
Some companies that have been showcased at Startup Night’s in the past include:
Quick 180 – the Uber for shipping containers that streamlines the process of the port industry.
ItsReel.TV – a website that combines content streaming with a virtual marketplace that allows you to buy the products seen in your favorite music videos, short films, and more.
The Briefcase – a company offering legal essentials, without the cost of a lawyer.
Space Monkeys Down – a game studio that produces table top board and card games.
Maker Mex – a 3D printing company that allows you to print with multiple materials.
