This November, you can get quench your scientific thirst with Science Pubs at Commonwealth Brewing in Virginia Beach.
Old Dominion University’s Assistant Dean for Outreach in the Batten College of Engineering & Technology, Carole Considine, will present “Going Green to Reduce Flooding and Build Climate Resilience” on Wednesday, November 15th. Networking begins at 6pm, and the program starts at 6:30.
Carole Considine’s current research is focused on sea level rise and coastal resilience with activities in education, outreach, applied projects, and nuisance flooding risk research. Why is this research important?
“Adoption of green infrastructure in the region can help us mitigate the impacts of flooding from coastal weather events and we can all play a part in the region whether it is where we live, or where we work,” she said.
If you can’t say her research is important, you haven’t been paying attention when it rains around here. We even have weekend events to study flooding in this region.
Join in on the discussion by attending this FREE event. As always, Science Pubs would like you to register here here.
