The Union Mission Ministries in Norfolk are critically low on men’s socks and underwear.
Your help is needed.
“Comfort and Joy: A Festival of Lessons and Carols” will take place this Saturday, December 3, at The Plot in the NEON District. There will be classic carols outdoors paired with readings explaining the history that inspired them all.
The Union Mission is one of the most vital non-profits in Hampton Roads. According to their records, last year The Union Mission Ministries provided shelter and care to thousands of men, women, and children, averaging more than 350 people every day.
Over 2,000 received counseling. 307,506 meals were served. 120,870 nights were spent in their shelters.
The Union Mission “serves the least, the last, and lost in our community 365 days a year,” and they can’t do it without you. Saturday night is a perfect opportunity to join the fight against homelessness in our community.
“In-keeping with the spirit of caroling, and bearing in mind the people this event serves, we will be outdoors,” according to Redeemer Norfolk, which is putting on the event. “Be sure to dress warmly.”
Your ticket to the event is men’s socks or underwear. Help provide dignity this holiday season.
The event takes place Saturday from 7 PM – 8 PM. For more info or to invite your friends, here is the event on Facebook.
