Virginia MOCA proudly celebrates its 23rd juried exhibition, New Waves 2018.
We invite Virginia artists to submit works for the Virginia Museum of Contemporary Art’s (MOCA) annual juried exhibition.
Juror: Cay-Sophie Rabinowitz (born in Norfolk, Virginia) is Director of OSMOS, a network of independent editorial and curatorial platforms based in New York. The brand OSMOS was founded in Berlin in 1997. Rabinowitz has been Senior Editor of Parkett and Artistic Director of Art Basel as well as faculty at Columbia University and Parsons. Rabinowitz has edited and published numerous monographs and critical essays on modern and contemporary art and culture. In 2011 Rabinowitz launched OSMOS Magazine to be an art quarterly “about the use and abuse of photography” wherein established practitioners are featured alongside the next generation. A recognized art world insider, Cay Sophie Rabinowitz, is known for her highly professional, yet deeply personal approach.

Entry Deadline: Midnight, January 8, 2018
Eligibility: All artists currently residing in Virginia.
Eligible Artwork: Work in all artistic mediums and made between the years of 2013-2017 is accepted for review. Art exhibited in previous New Waves exhibitions is not eligible for review.
Submissions: Except for video and sound work, submissions for the New Waves 2018 exhibition will be accepted through online application only.
